This website provides a broad range of resources relating to the effective use of emergency manuals to enhance patient safety. Emergency manuals are increasingly being used in a wide range of clinical settings, along with other forms of ‘cognitive aid’ such as checklists.
These tools aim to help clinicians and teams consistently deliver best practice, provide a framework for teams to train for, manage and debrief critical events and embed the actual use of emergency manuals into clinical practice.
The focus of the resources on this website is on perioperative crises, but the principles demonstrated by many of these resources are applicable to a wide range of clinical settings.
