This case study describes how to enable more local health professionals to receive training in self management support, the local Co-Creating Health team developed a ‘menu’ of programmes of different lengths.
After local practitioners found it difficult to attend a full practitioner development programme, the local self management support team in Torbay Care Trust developed a ‘menu’ of approaches from a 1.5 hour programme, a 4 hour programme and a full programme of 3 half-day sessions. Developing the materials has proven time consuming, and the shortest session is only able to offer a flavour of self management support, but the short session has encouraged health professionals to sign up for the full programme.
