In September 2013, three meaningful activity facilitators were appointed to provide additional support for people with dementia across three older people’s wards at Leicester Royal Infirmary.

Activities such as reminiscence, music therapy, and arts and crafts support physical, sensory and psychological well-being help to gain a deeper understanding of the person behind the dementia.

This improvement report hosted by the King’s Fund outlines how the service has already made an enormous difference to both patients and their carers, as well as medical, nursing, and supporting teams.
