The Perinatal Mental Health Scorecard Project

The Perinatal Mental Health Scorecard Project

Author: The Health Foundation

Resource type :

This video discusses the impact of perinatal mental health problems on both maternal and child health from the perspective of both professionals and patients and discusses the use of a perinatal mental health value scorecard which enables health visitors to record the services they are providing for patients.

Real-time measurement allows objective evaluation of past and current service provision, to identify where improvements are needed along a care pathway, in order to deliver outcomes which matter most to patients.

This data capture can then inform commissioners and organisations about the level of care they are providing against national guidelines. The team discusses challenges they’ve come across in this ongoing piece of work.

This project was developed by UCL Partners on behalf of Health Education England and Department of Health.
